The duties of the city attorney typically include representing the city in all civil cases in which the city is a party, providing legal advice to city officials and employees on city matters, preparing or reviewing ordinances, drafting official documents, assisting in the acquisition and sale of city property, and generally assisting the governing body, other city bodies and staff in the legal aspects of the conduct of their official business and public meetings. Paige Gilmore is the City Attorney.
Mark Cowell serves as prosecuting attorney and provides legal service for prosecution of cases in the Municipal Court.
