How do I sign up for water, sewer & trash service?: Services can be signed up in person at the Water Counter at City Hall. Please bring photo ID, social security number, and a copy of your lease agreement or receipt from your landlord showing when you moved in (if you are renting). The cost for starting new service is $26.00, which has to be paid when you sign up. After 5:00 pm the cost for starting new service is $52.00.
For locations that have had services in the past (not new construction), you can also try our online service request at the main Utility Billing page.

1. How do I sign up for water, sewer & trash service?: Services can be signed up in person at the Water Counter at City Hall. Please bring photo ID, social security number, and a copy of your lease agreement or receipt from your landlord showing when you moved in (if you are renting). The cost for starting new service is $26.00, which has to be paid when you sign up. After 5:00 pm the cost for starting new service is $52.00.

2. How do I discontinue my service?: You may discontinue your service by calling the Utility Billing Department at (620) 225-8111 and talking to a customer service representative or coming into our office in person. They will ask you for your forwarding address where your final bill will be sent.

3. If my service has been discontinued due to non-payment, how much is the delinquency fee?: The delinquency fee is $40.00, which will automatically post to the account no earlier than 5:00 p.m. on the due date on the reminder. This fee must be paid plus the past due balance before the account will be reactivated.

4. Can I have the amount due on my utility bill automatically withdrawn from my bank account each month?: Yes - contact the Utility Billing office at 225-8111 or come in to sign a Bank Account Withdrawal Authorization form. Please bring a cancelled check or deposit slip with you from the account you wish to use.

5. If my account has been turned over to collections for non-payment, can I still sign up for new service?: Not until your past due balance(s) has been paid. They can be paid at the Water Counter before you sign up for new service.

6. Can I receive e-mail notification of my utility bill?: Yes! Please e-mail ritas@dodgecity.org with your service address and account number and request e-notification for your utility account. You will still continue to receive a postcard bill as well.

7. How can I get a City of Dodge City flag?: Official City of Dodge City flags are now available for the public to purchase at City Hall (806 N. 2nd Ave.). The 3' x 5' flag is $45.00.
