Recycling Advisory Board
The Recycling Advisory Board, established by Ordinance No. 2980 on August 19, 1991, is designated to function solely in an advisory capacity to the City Commission for the development, implementation and promotion of recycling and related programs for the Dodge City area. Areas of responsibility of the Board include, but are not necessarily limited to:a. Development and monitoring of recycling and related refuse programs for the Dodge City area.
b. Planning and implementing community recycling or related activities as approved by the City Commission.
c. Making recommendations with respect to enhancement or improvement of the recycling/refuse program to the City Commission, City Manager and Superintendent of Public Works.
d. Keeping abreast of legislation and regulations which may affect the recycling program.
e. Volunteer support for recycling and related programs within the community.
f. Monitoring of City performance from data collected and examined under Keep America Beautiful, Inc. system guidelines.
g. Making an annual report to the City Commission concerning activities of the Advisory Board.
The seven member board, serving 3 year staggered terms, is responsible for overseeing operations of the recycle center and recycling programs. As an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Inc., the Board advises and initiates programs relating to litter, beautification, neighborhood cleanups and graffiti abatement.
Meetings are every 4th Monday of the month, 5:15 pm, City Hall, 806 North 2nd Avenue.
