The City of Dodge City has acquired bilingual, self-service kiosks to provide an additional option for contactless payment of utility bills. The self-service kiosk is known as the Justified Automated Collections Kiosk (JACK), and there are no additional fees for using JACK’s touch screen kiosk.
Utility customers can pay through the kiosks by cash, check, or card. Change will not be provided for cash payments made through the kiosk, but the overpayment will be added to the account for the next billing cycle. Customers will need to have their paper bill, address, last name, or account number when using the kiosk.
The first kiosk that is now running is placed inside the Village Square Mall’s main entrance at 2601 Central Ave. and can be used to make bill payments during the mall’s business hours. A second kiosk will be placed on the north side of City Hall at 806 N. 2nd Avenue in late April and will be available for payments at all times.
JACK operates as a bilingual, real-time utility payment booth that not only allows residents to pay their outstanding bills but uploads payment data to the account in real-time. The residents can choose to view their outstanding payments or account details by scanning their bill or entering their address, last name, or account number.
The kiosks were purchased utilizing SPARKs funding to improve health and safety measures by providing additional contactless service options.
