Information on COVID-19 for Ford County

We know there is an immense amount of information out there regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. If there is something to report, we assure you we will be open, honest, and transparent. We are in regular communication with Ford County Administration, Emergency Management and the Ford County Health Department to ensure we are relaying the most up-to-date information for the safety of Dodge City residents.

We encourage you to follow the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the CDC guidelines so you can be informed on the latest updates. Please hesitate from spreading disinformation, or from sharing things on social media that you assume to be accurate. This is harmful to public safety and can incite panic unnecessarily.

Currently, there are no suspected nor positive cases of COVID-19 in Ford County.

We encourage residents to take the following preventative measures to keep you and your loved ones safe and healthy:

Frequently wash your hands with soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds.

Refrain from shaking hands.

Use hand sanitizer regularly, after shaking hands or touching surfaces, when hand washing is not available.

Keep hands away from the face - In particular, refrain from touching eyes, nose, and mouth.

Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue to cough or sneeze, and discard it in a lined trash can.

Wipe/disinfect Surfaces - doorknobs, handrails, doors, sinks, desktops, steering wheels, phones, keyboards, tablets, etc.

Stay home if you are sick, especially if you have a fever.

The situation is being monitored continuously. We defer to the Ford County Health Department for further direction. They have skilled staff, and we are lucky to have them.
