Infant Death


On June 27, 1997 at 8:00am Officers of the Dodge City Police Department investigated the death of 20 month old Colton Downtain. Officers and EMS Personnel had responded to a residence at 704 Avenue B upon receiving a report of a child having difficulty breathing. Upon their arrival EMS Personnel treated Colton Downtain at the scene and then transported him to Western Plains Regional Hospital. While at the hospital Colton Downtain died. It was later determined that Colton Downtain's death was not due to natural causes.


Rape/Aggravated Burglary


On Wednesday May 2, 2001 officers of the Dodge City Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Market Circle to investigate the rape of a person and aggravated burglary of the residence. Upon their arrival officer's had discovered that at approximately 10:40pm an unknown suspect had entered the victim's residence while she was sleeping, and raped her. Enough information has not been obtained to make an arrest, so Crime Stoppers is asking for your help. A composite picture of the suspect has been developed.




On March 23, 1985 an unknown subject murdered June Bidleman.  The murder occurred while she was working as a clerk at the Welcome Inn Motel formerly located at 1610 West Wyatt Earp.
